There’s a funny little shift that happens around this time of year.
The rush of autumn seems to pass, the Mother’s Day frenzy disappears overnight, and suddenly the house starts asking for different things again.
Throws reappear on sofas.
The lamps go on earlier.
Mornings feel slower.
The kettle somehow works overtime.

It’s not quite winter yet. But you can feel it coming.
I’ve noticed lately that I’m craving home more than usual. Not in a big renovation or “perfect house” kind of way. More in the small everyday rituals that make a space feel comforting to live in.
A warm drink before everyone wakes up.
A softer light in the evenings.
Something textured draped over the arm of the couch.
The little things really are the big things.

Maybe that’s why I’ve been so drawn to organic cotton throws lately. They’re simple, practical, easy to live with, but they instantly make a space feel warmer and more lived in. The kind of piece you reach for without really thinking about it.
At Nest & Bird, I’m always interested in homes that feel collected slowly. Spaces with warmth, softness, and signs of real life being lived inside them.
Not perfect. Just loved.
And honestly, this in-between season might be my favourite time for that.
